This website was created as a delayed response to the 2016 Presidential Election, when for reasons unfathomable, the nation elected an autocrat wannabe. On 20 January 2017, Donald Trump swore to “faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States” and to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” Instead of faithfully executing his Presidential duties, he has ignored and/or actively subverted them. He flaunts the Emoluments Clause. He attacks First Amendment freedoms: religious freedom and freedom of the press. He undermines the various intelligence agencies. He attacks the co-equal branches of government: the Judicial branch and the Legislative branch. He cozies up to autocrats and berates and dismisses democratic allies. He has a serious Putin problem, fawning over him like a love-struck schoolboy. He and his campaign have lied repeatedly about their contacts with Russia government representatives. He has lied about his Russian business ties and ambitions. He only grudgingly signed a near-unanimous bill regarding Russian sanctions, but has since refused to implement it, snubbing his nose at the Legislative branch. His State Department entered into a no-bid contract with a Putin-tied Russian security firm to provide security to our embassy buildings in Russia! Seriously! He reportedly provided code-word intelligence to Russian government officials in the Oval Office. He suggested entering into a cybersecurity partnership with Russia. (Yeah, right!) It’s almost as if he is an actual agent of the Russian government!! Yet, Republican legislators are protecting him, in many cases seemingly obstructing justice for him. What gives?!
I feel so helpless, relying on others (journalists, the House and Senate Intelligence Committees, the FBI, the Special Council, the intelligence community) to save us from this calamity. This website was created so that I can at least feel like I’m doing something constructive. My intent is for this site to be a resource for the Trump-Russia saga. Over time, additional Trump-Russia-related resource pages like the one for Trump-Russia Time Lines will be added to the site.
Below is the first and only (thus far) YouTube video I’ve ever created. It was included in my first blog post. The “Anti-Constitutional-Bullying PSA” video, inspired by the “Bully Jr.” anti-bullying YouTube video, is a plea to Republican legislators to please find the courage to live up to the oath they swore to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”
